It’s been almost 6 months since I last sent out a Healing Journey update, because last December I was promoted to a 6-month oncology follow-up schedule. Life has been full since then: with opportunities to live puposefully + thankfully, and to serve others — even as my energy stores have been gradually building back up. God has been so faithful!
A recent highlight has been getting to see both Aaron ( flying in from NY!) and Eden for her graduation (in culinary arts and appropriate independence) from Shepherds College this past weekend in Wisconsin. Here is a poem Eden created in response to my question after commencement about how she was feeling as she was saying goodbye to her friends, teachers, and mentors that have shaped her in so many positive ways these past three years:
graduated!
sad glad
saying goodbye
missing you
finding myself
journeying on
building a team
step by step
living my goals
discovering hope
Isn’t it cool, that even as I am finding hope in God’s faithfulness in terms of recovery from radiation and surgery last fall for my cancer, that my daughter is also getting to discover hope in her journey toward independence as well?! God is so good…
Finally, here is an update regarding my two cancer related appointments this week:
June 6 - blood tests (praying that they will confirm my continuing to be in remission)
June 10 - oncology follow-up appointment, followed by a bone strengthening infusion since I am still taking a hormone suppressant pill each day.
Thank you again for your journeying with me in prayer and praise! And please include Eden in your prayers as she moves back home and starts looking for a job, and for Aaron (and his sweet wife Hannah) in their new life on the East Coast.
blessings, Linda
Thanks for the update Benisse! I'm rejoicing with you, and I love Eden's poem!
Heartfelt poem by Eden! Congratulations to Eden and the family! What a lovely family pic for a happy occasion, Linda! Thank you for sharing…always inspiring! Continued prayers for your complete healing.❤️
